==History==
Amber is the Youngest of 7 children, all born to [[Duriz Ironfoot|Duriz]] and Yusideth Ironfoot. [[Duriz Ironfoot|Duriz]] is a minor noble,  made a Squire by the Emperor for his service in the Imperial Army, and given leave to establish a small village in Vapetor Province. [[Duriz Ironfoot|Duriz]] is fiercely loyal to the Empire, and extremely proud of his noble status. Amber, however, is less enthusiastic about both her nobility and the empire.

She was born with a rebellious streak, and her position as youngest child and 5th eldest daughter only seemed to fuel her discontent. She chafed under the rules of courtly manners, and was colorfully described by the last of a long line of short-lived tutors as "an ill-mannered, ill-tempered, foul-mouthed she-devil, more fit for a dirty tavern floor than a manor house and who has all the grace and scent of a draft horse, with none of the redeeming personality"
