__NOTOC__ == ===Welcome & Introduction=== Welcome and introduction: Solace: Family Vikings prepare to go on their first raid. We pray to Asgard for calm seas and rich plunder, but we prepare for storms and salt. ---- = = ===Background=== The Country of Solace is run through a strict feudal system with a supreme Emperor in charge of the government, Nobility that own the land and those that work it, Clergy with access to the Gods, and the working poor that support the weight of the economy above them. The old ways of governance no longer work for the people and they demand change. Solace: Revolution takes place chronologically long after the events in Solace: Collapse campaign. This campaign occurs in a time when magic has been outlawed and Solace is governed by a Emperor that rules with Divine right from Pelor. Solace is in transformative time period as nearly endless wars, mismanagement by the empire, and poor harvests have pushed Solace to it a breaking point. This campaign will be using D&D 5e. ===Important Links=== *Player Characters - The roster of player characters and other allies *Campaign Notes - These are player-written theories and notes about the over-arching campaign *All Game Summaries - Detailed player-written game summaries ---- == ===Background=== Solace: Reconstruction takes place starting on Talus Kisaturna 347CE, roughly one month after the collapse of Solace. What is known is the first choir of gods were created to govern over the world some time around 6000 BCE Some time in the next 6000 years many paragons of certain virtues were ascended to godhood by Taiia (detailed in the Solace Pantheon) It is believed that Taiia was the most enlightened of the elves, the first race, and upon ascension to godhood her first act was to make elves mortal. We believe this is why elves have such a long lifespan, averaging around 1000 years. Unsatisfied with the progress that elves made as a society, Taiia spawned another race which an even shorter lifespan, Dwarves. Ultimately, Taiia spawned many diverse races of different qualities, types, and locations. Merging continents and creating conflict was Taiia's way of influencing the world indirectly. It is not understood at this point whether the Kraken's awakening was her doing, or something else altogether. In the defining year of our common era (0 CE) the Kraken awoke, disrupting life for everyone. Historically referred to as The Great Awakening ----
