Background historical information pre-dating Solace: Ascension edit edit source

Much of ancient history is unknown, but what we do know is the elves were given life long ago, the best estimates mark it as approximately 100,000 years ago, but many conflicting stories suggest "civilization" is even older.

What is known is the first choir of gods were created to govern over the world some time around 6000 BCE

Some time in the next 6000 years many paragons of certain virtues were ascended to godhood by Taiia (detailed in the Solace Pantheon)

It is believed that Taiia was the most enlightened of the elves, the first race, and upon ascension to godhood her first act was to make elves mortal. We believe this is why elves have such a long lifespan, averaging around 1000 years. Unsatisfied with the progress that elves made as a society, Taiia spawned another race which an even shorter lifespan, Dwarves. Ultimately, Taiia spawned many diverse races of different qualities, types, and locations. Merging continents and creating conflict was Taiia's way of influencing the world indirectly. It is not understood at this point whether the Kraken's awakening was her doing, or something else altogether.

In the defining year of our common era (0 CE) the Kraken awoke, disrupting life for everyone. Historically referred to as The Great Awakening
