We encountered these trolls while investigating an entrance into the Kobold Lair where we believed a Red Dragon egg was being kept and incubated. In the cave found not only a young dragon wyrmling, but also Trolls of unusual appearance and intelligence. They seemed to have taken on a rocky appearance and were actually growing gems in their body (as was the wyrmling AND the cave in which they all were found). Unable to impress upon them the importance of our mission to prevent the dragon from being misused, and caught invetigating their we were forced to fight and kill these unusual trolls.
