Hey players you can make notes here about story threads

For a list of completed quests, see the Game-Summaries:Game Summaries

Black Ice Gang

There seems to be a number of cells associated with the Gang, each of which is tasked with some goal, so far indicated only by a key word. each cell also has a leader, a few of which have been eliminated. It is unclear whether eliminating the cell leader has neutralized that cell. At least in one case, it seems not. The also seems ot be some connection between the gang and the Spider Queen Lolth

Cells

Our investigations have uncovered the existence of the following cells:

Leader Task Whereabouts
Valas "Chaos" whereabouts unknown
Hune "Portals" whereabouts unknown
Kaanyr "Magistery" whereabouts unknown
Dyrr "Temple District" whereabouts unknown
Nimor "Shepherd" whereabouts unknown
Imphraezl "Assembly and Release" whereabouts unknown
Danifae ??? whereabouts unknown
Dakasuta "Base" DECEASED
Aliisza "Recruitment" DECEASED
Jez'zara "Recruitment" DECEASED

Cells were initially identified during Game-Summaries:11/24 Recollections

Tasks and Whereabouts

Our Investigations have uncovered the following information about each leader's tasks and possible locations:

Valas "Chaos"

Valas is gathering the ingredients for the "Chaos Curse", though he exact nature of the Curse is unknown. With less relative ease, we were able to figure out what he has collected and what he has not yet:

"Chaos Curse" Ingredients:

  1. Red Dragon Scales - OBTAINED
  2. Mimic's Teeth - OBTAINED
  3. Owlbear's Feathers - OBTAINED
  4. Rust Monster's Saliva
  5. Frost Giant's Beard
  6. Brain of a Mind Flayer
  7. Lich's Phylactery - ONE CURRENTLY HELD BY Orphan Coin
  8. Beholder's Eyes

It's been nearly impossible to discover Valas' whereabouts, however we did learn of a drow cell that we suspect to be reporting to him recruiting in the slums to go on an expedition into the old Solace ruins. We have located their likely point of entry into the old solace ruins, and while it is unclear what they are looking for, based on the remaining ingredients we surmise based on creatures that are known to inhabit similar environments (underground, plenty of abandoned resources to consume, and a wide network of unexplored and explored tunnels) that they are likely hunting Rust Monsters.

A Magistery party including Jorg, Cassio, Ember, Ci and one member yet to be chosen is planning to attempt to disrupt this hunt, obtain the location of Valas, and if possible, neutralize him and his cell.

Chaos Curse ingredients list was discovered in Game-Summaries:9/9 Recollections

Hune "Portals"

Task Unknown - It could be inferred that this task involves the creation or maintenance of Portals to and from the home of the Drow, known as the Underdark, and other locations (see Game-Summaries:10/6 Recollections and Game-Summaries:12/9 Recollections). We have no proof to back up this theory however.

Hune has proven difficult to learn anything about, however reading up on the mysterious portal from fellow classmates and using their accurately drawn image (Game-Summaries:12/9 Recollections), Ford was able to drop a few signs and hints using his thieves' cant and discover that a wild mage has been drawing similar imagery into the ground in various locations, about 20 miles east of town.

Doing some additional digging into the symbolism of the portal itself Ford discovered strange references to old languages far gone, it's difficult to obtain accurate translations cause so much has been lost to time but one thing is very clear: this magic does not originate from this realm. The symbols you are able to translate indicate some kind of breach into the "in-between," the space between planes.

A Magistery party including Ford, Jeroy, Kaylorr, Pearl, and Tallulah attempted to track down Hune on 1/27.

The Far / Outside

"It's the here there be dragons territory where the dragons are made of fish sticks made of crystallized screams of the sound of purple and the flavor of jealousy, or at least that's the closest your mind that is bound up in multiverse thinking and perception can come to comprehending it."

When searching for portals at the Farmers Enclave, we began to dig under the portals we found and discovered an underground city. Directly under the intertwined portals, we saw a pentagram that seemed to be used to create a casting using old tribal magic. Wisakedjak, the First Weaver, told us this originated from the “outside” while we’re the “inside”. It's possible that something from "The Far / Outside" is creating these portals.

While exploring the Training Dungeon Mishap (see Game-Summaries:1/12 Recollections) we discovered that we actually had been transported to an alternate dimension of sorts known as as The Far or The Outside. The strange place was filled with even stranger things including abominations and obscenities - creatures twisted by magic or experimentation - with paper walls and stone papers. Though it resembled the real world, the things inhabiting it were flawed reflections. At its center we met and destroyed a Mindflayer named Zahn who seemed to be at least thriving in this environment, if not actively creating and manipulating it. Before we could gather more information, however, we were transported back to the Magistery with more questions than when we left:

  • Was this Outside where the Training dungeons have always existed, and were they corrupted by Zahn for his own ends?
  • Is the Outside another realm entirely, in which case, how were we directed there, instead of our usual location?
  • Was this Zahn the architect of this madness, or merely a Pawn in a larger scheme, not yet glimpsed?
  • Will Cassio ever realize that Ember IS the bear?

Perhaps further investigations will yield greater truths, but for the time being, this line of inquiry seems to have ended.
