Interdie. Never celebrated it in Solace before.

The Magistery was worried about an attack of some kind, and the Blues were entrusted to keep the city safe. The Blessing of the Blue that was given to us was very powerful. To not only feel Myra, Zaana, Coin and Vedrah’s presence...but an echo of their senses... I don’t think I’ve felt another being like that so closely in my consciousness before. Ever. It was unnerving.

Vedrah was our group leader. He led us to the Taverns & Restaurant district. We were to patrol in a two block radius, on the lookout for anything dangerous or suspicious. Through my month long research into the Black Ice Gang, I learned how to notice them by the charcoal markings they had on their foreheads. We had concerns that they would pull something that evening.

I noticed someone strange, scoping out a tavern called the Red Axe, a 70 year old establishment. When I tried to get closer, they vanished without a trace. So I figured I would head inside to see if I could learn anything from the proprietor. No such luck.

I get outside after overpaying for some mediocre stout and see another cloaked figure checking out the tavern. On my approach I notice it’s standing very still. I was able to pass my arm through it, and Orphan Coin noticed this as well. That last event was seemingly a distraction. A drove of men started marching towards the Red Axe. I decide to rush over there because….battle, right? Wrong. I tried to shift focus from the fact that I was going to punch them very hard. Zanna had to pull me aside.

I have to remember this for later:

'''IF WE PUNCH PEOPLE, WE CAN’T FIND THINGS OUT.
FINDING THINGS OUT IS IMPORTANT'''.

Myra was able to get some information out of one of the guys, after which the cloaks headed into the Red Axe. Zaana and Myra went inside to try to get more information. I went to get Vedrah and Coin was performing a ritual. The men from before, were standing at the bar and fixing their attention on the baker. Vedrah came in and let Myra and Zanna know that the Baker was important in this equation before leaving. Once the festivities began outside the bar started to clear out. The cloaks let their hoods down revealing the mark of the Black Ice Gang. They jumped over the bar and before anyone could say or do anything, they killed the baker with some sort of poison. They were after something behind his bakery. It was something they never got to see. We killed a few, incapacitated one to capture and interrogate.

Anything we didn’t get...the GINGERBREAD GOLEM killed. I didn’t realize we were dealing with a Bakecromancer.

It was huge with a glowing ruby on its chest. And once everyone was dealt with it spoke in a riddle. We solved it and were granted access to the Baker’s back room. The Golem said Arn Lotner was his name. He had necromantic powers and was using them to be a better baker. Which, as far as necromancers go, I’m okay with.

Not a huge fan of his wife though. Come to think of it, we left without even thinking about how she was feeling in that moment. They owned that shop together for 70 years. Maybe I’ll send her some gold. Some recompense for a life cut short.

We found some items in the back. One of which was a Lich’s Phylactery. I think Coin is holding onto it. Some other items of note: a shield, a few gems, healing potions and a staff that looks like a piece of candy.

I don’t know what to make of tonight. I keep thinking we could have done more to save that old man. Maybe I’m not cut out for this sort of work.

...Maybe joining the Magistery was a mistake. I’ll sleep on it. My thread winds on, for the moment at least.

IF WE PUNCH PEOPLE, WE CAN’T FIND THINGS OUT. FINDING THINGS OUT IS IMPORTANT.

Myra was able to get some information out of one of the guys, after which the cloaks headed into the Red Axe. Zaana and Myra went inside to try to get more information. I went to get Vedrah and Coin was performing a ritual. The men from before, were standing at the bar and fixing their attention on the baker.
