Duriz and Yusideth Ironfoot are parents to 7 children, born over 10 decades. Duriz is a minor noble, made a Squire by the Emperor nearly 150 years ago for his service in the Imperial Army, and given leave to establish a small village in Vapetor Province. Duriz is fiercely loyal to the Empire, and extremely proud of his noble status.
Duriz is 276 years old, and though old and considers his days as a warrior long behind him. He is still relative hale despite his advanced age, and can still act in defense of his family or his empire if need be. He began Ironfoot village as a safe place for veterans of the Imperial Amry, but in the intervening years has become accustomed to the comfort and privilege his nobility affords. He is fiercely loyal to the emperor and his Count, Vuduin Vapetor. For him, the emperor IS the law, and his nobles are that law made incarnate. He also gives all worship and deference to Pelor, as is required of the Nobility, though, one would not call him a religious man.
