Shar Ngolyeth

Shar Ngolyeth was revealed to be an Elder Brain that is the focus of a group called the Cult of the Kraken. This cult seems to be at the center of an attempt to bring a being known as the Nameless into our world (if the cultists are to be believed, to RETURN this being to our world). A group of Magistery adepts faced an Aspect of Shar Ngolyeth when we investigated the sudden appearance of a mysterious island near Kraken's Landing (see Game-Summaries:6/30 Recollections). This aspect had an appearance similar to a Mindflayer, as it had tentacles on its face, and seemed to be surrounded by tentacles when we encountered it. The cultists seem to believe that it is a Old God, and worship it as their deity. It at least seems to be a monstrous creature of great power that, if let loose upon our world, could cause great damage.

Later, members of The Eternal Order faced Shar Ngolyeth himself, forcing him to retreat to another plane, thoiugh nearly losing their lives doing so. (See Game-Summaries:10/13 Recollections) It seems that Shar Ngolyeth was not the master we thought, and instead merely a servant himself of the Nameless.

Shar Ngolyeth has been referred to as "The Old One" or "The Deep One"
