Shar Ngolyeth was revealed to be an Elder Brain that is the focus of a group called the Cult of the Kraken. This cult seems to be at the center of an attempt to bring a being known as the Nameless into our world (if the cultists are to be believed, to RETURN this being to our world). A group of Magistery adepts faced an Aspect of Shar Ngolyeth when we investigated the sudden appearance of a mysterious island near Kraken's Landing (see Game-Summaries:6/30 Recollections). This aspect had an appearance similar to a Mindflayer, as it had tentacles on its face, and seemed to be surrounded by tentacles when we encountered it. The cultists seem to believe that it is a Old God, and worship it as their deity.
